A Day In Our Life

Results will be announced tomorrow.
Earliest, at 6 p.m.
I don't remember being this nervous to receive exam results

¬_¬

Watching Freeter, Ie Wo Kau at the moment. I LOVE IT!! Not because of who are in it, nope, not bias at all *coughsNinocoughs* but because the of the heart warming scenes of the family, the progress of the characters that make you smile and some conflicts that make you frown and make you angry as well. It’s a good family drama~ ♥
Oh! Oh! I want the OST, please! Piano-based background music is ♥

To you three who came along with me to the batting cage today, thank you ♥

Paddington House of Pancake is off the list of 'Places to Eat', and now is on the list of 'Favourite Dessert Places' along with Theobroma Chocolate Lounge~

Smile

People said laughter is the best medicine
But what if you can't stop the laughter?

I think we've been cooped up in the 'mini aquarium' for too long in a day XP

It's refreshing!

It's also a relaxing group outing session~ Thank you for coming, Dr. & fellow mentee-mates <- is there such word? xD

A Picture A Week: Week 45-46 [Reflection]

Since tomorrow is Awal Muharram, it's time to do some reflection before the year end and think of how we can improve ourselves, don't you think?

Yup, we'll take a better version of this shot next time, okay?

A Picture A Week: Week 41-44 [The Lamp Series]

These were taken at my aunt's house...

This one:

And this one:
are basically the same lamp (chandelier?), but it has different lights... blue and yellow.
Too high for me to take the details and I don't have the appropriate lens

I personally love this colourful one~
Moroccon-theme? Indian-theme? You decide.

Don't get too tanned, you! XP

Love Rainbow

I got a text from a friend saying she had safely delivered a baby boy. A few weeks prior, I got to know through fb that another friend gave birth to a baby boy. Months before that a good friend called to inform me that she's pregnant.
Today, a childhood friend called to ask something regarding her antenatal check-up...
Today, I got to know a high-school friend is getting married in a month's time.
In January 2011, there will be another wedding to attend in Ipoh.

Lovely isn't it? It feels like there are a lot of love rainbows around

Kotoba Yori Taisetsuna Mono

... means something more important than words

If you're wondering what's the meaning of Japanese lyrics I put last week, here is the (romaji) and translation.

僕が選んだ毎日なのに 迷ったりヘコんでみたり
(boku ga eranda mainichi na noni mayottari hekonde mitari)
写真の中の無邪気な僕は 果たしてなんていうんだろう
(shashin no naka no mujaki na boku wa hatashite nante iun darou)

明日の僕をむかえに行く (asu no boku wo mukae ni iku)

The everyday of my own choice, may it be times I was lost or when I stumbled
I wonder how will it be with my innocent self in the photo

I’m off to face myself of tomorrow
I pray lest I fail by that time
Embracing the important things long forgotten
I might not know any answers
Even so, I shall walk down the continuous path in simple faith

[Romaji and translation credit to Denise Dinc; thank you for your kindness]

I personally love the last two phrase. Not as much as these two ayahs in the Quran but close enough,

God does not burden any human being with more than he is well able to bear... [2:286]

..even though it be hateful to you; but it may well be that you hate a thing the while it is good for you, and it may well be that you love a thing the while it is bad for you: and God knows, whereas you do not know [2:216]

A Picture A Week: Week 40

Vintage attempt...
Syu told me about this awesome website a long time ago.... well, a few months ago. Had some attempts with some pretty profile pictures from magazine scans and my personal collection.
And I took below photo quite some time ago- had a sudden urge to photograph the perfumes the three of us have at home... And err.... 7 out of 10 are... mine XP Actually, in this particular picture, I missed out one bottle, CK Eternity, which is empty already but I still keep the bottle, because perfumes are just love xD

The photo turned out to be dull. It's bland. And boring. So I thought I'd 'spice it up'. I've been thinking about making it vintage-like since Syu told me about the website. Check it out, it's really nice.

Below the cut is the original photo and another two that I saved while editing it to the final product above. You can see the differences~

Kaze

These pretty much summed up how I was feeling early in the morning, 2 days ago...

Fly, fly and keep on flying
Run, run, keep on running
Until you reach your goal, don’t give in
No matter if you’re in pain
Keep on going

Fly, fly soar through the sky
Even if you stop for a while to cry
This long journey you have chosen
Is known to have ups and downs

If you’re tired, rest for a while
If you look back, you might smile
Yes it has been one long journey to travel
Yes you have stumbled and cry and fell
But you’re here
the end of the first phase is near

And this pretty much sums up what I'm feeling when I was writing what I wrote above and what I'm feeling now....

 - From 嵐's Mukae ni Iku Yo

It's been 8 years.... most of the time I think I'm still not good and not ready to work. Everyday, the thought of exams makes me worried, not just because they're important exams, but the bigger questions of "Will I be a safe doctor?" and "Do I know enough?" and "Am I ready? Am I trustworthy enough?" keep on pounding in my head. They all lead to "Why did I choose this in the first place?"
There's a part of me that wants to finish quickly but there's also a part of me that's scared. Is there any part of me that's feeling excited to go out there and work? None at this moment.

MAJOR self doubt. I know. And it comes now, during the critical time *headdesk*

There, I said it out in the open. How long have I been feeling this and carrying this without telling a soul about it, even with some strong compulsion to meet some of my mentors?

You don't want to know.

Boku ga boku no subete...

Perhaps what I wanted, more than needed was for someone to just listen
I wasn't looking for any reassurance; basically I just wanted a place to vent out, where I can voice it out loudly for my ears to listen to it.
But I guess to hear some reassurance was a plus. I didn't seek for it but He let me have it and somehow it settled me down a bit. Alhamdulillah.

For the first time in the past two to three weeks, I wake up at 1 something a.m. in the morning and don't have the strong compulsion to go back to sleep.

I take that as a good sign.

Boku ga boku no subete... I am everything that I am now.

Success, failures, setbacks, challanges, hardship, dreams, goals...

While I am given this small opportunities now, I shall sieze them.
Tired? Maybe. Demotivated? Maybe. But while I'm a bit on the track at the moment, I'll take that chance.

I guess in a way, probably I miss them too, 嵐 =P

A Picture A Week: Week 39

Wanted to take the photo of the... let's see....6-7 cars convoying I guess, during one of the days of "jalan-jalan raya" but got the shot of the dusk from the side mirror instead xD

October 1, 2010

Giving back?

Blood donation lifted my mood today. A lot.
Usually there would be a banner a few days prior announcing that there would be one at the hospital but none was around this time around so it was a pleasant surprise, especially since the last donation was in March and since then we didn't have the chance or free time to go to the Blood Bank again.

Ohoku opens today... It would be nice to be able to watch that, to be honest. But at least blood donation distracted me a bit xD

I hope this is one of the little ways to give back.

So, if you're healthy, why don't you do the same too? There's a undescribable happiness and satisfaction afterwards~

A Picture A Week: Week 37 (and quick update)

// siblings meeting @ one of the kopitiams near our house; Eid 2010

Since the five of us are scattered around, in and outside Malaysia, we thought we might just continue with this when we can get together, at least once a year...

Quick update:
- Internet hasn't been most cooperative nowadays, reported to TM, most probably cable problem; they're going to send someone to have a look sometime next week
- Orthopaedics Week 2: We drew lot, I'll have my assessment next week T_T
- "Jalan raya" will continue this week... Unfortunately the camera is 3 hours away so to those who wish for picture taking session, someone else have to be the photographers ^^;
- Read the translation lyrics for Dear Snow, love it! ♥
- Am loving NatsuNiji's OST too ♥

A Picture A Week: Week 36

This is one of the collection that I am planning to archive here. I'll bring the whole batch later on when I have more time to do the archiving properly.

// The Petronas Twin Tower, KLCC (Kuala Lumpur City Centre) at midnight

One of the night shot I experimented with... This was taken... I think some time 2 years ago...
I'd like to do this again to be honest, night shot in KLCC, next time, probably with the flash-light and tripod, so I don't have to lie down on the grass to take the shot =P

As promised,
I ♥ You

A Picture A Week: Week 34-35 [Reflection]

I was reading this (or rather, viewing it) a few weeks ago: 13 Fun Self Portrait Mirror Shots

And I only realized about this post today: My Camera and I Weekly Photography Challenge

When I was reading the first article above, I remember I had taken something similar along the theme in October last year:

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

But because I'm too shy to join the fun in the second link above, I'll just post it here.

I'm moving a huge collection of pictures from another place to here, for archiving purposes sometime in the future (which I've been procrastinating for... err... months?), so please excuse the picture spam ^^;;;;

Eid

Eid’ul Fitr is one of the two celebrations in Islam. You may see it spelled or called differently at different places/countries: Eidil Fitr, Aidil Fitri, Hari Raya Puasa, Hari Lebaran just to name a few but it’s referring to the same day: the day of celebration after one month of fasting in Ramadhan, a holy month in Islamic Calander.

Perhaps in Malaysia, the celebration is leaning more towards tradition in celebrating the day. When mentioning Aidil Fitri, the image that I can portray is colourful, from the scenery to the people. There’s also this image of family gathering, ‘balik kampung’ (literally meaning going back to your hometown, kampung literally means ‘village’ but in this context, your hometown), people seeking for forgiveness from the others and food. Good food.

Usually when people talk about ‘balik kampung’, it’s usually the place where family members would gather at the grandparents home... In our family, on my father’s side, it will depend on where Grandma decides to celebrate Eid. This year it was at my aunt’s house. So, on the First Raya, dad’s siblings would gather there; if you haven’t seen your cousins for the past one year, high chance that you’re going to see them there.

Years back when we were small, ‘balik kampung’ also means sleepover. The only ‘kampung’ I have is on Mom’s side (since Grandma on dad’s side lives in Kuala Lumpur now)- nowadays, we’d either go back on the First Raya in the evening, or on the Second Raya. I was sitting in what used to be the living/dining area on the upper side of the wooden house when I remembered the different designated places for different families to sleep at, with net (kelambu) hung over... and at night the kids would be outside playing with fire crackers, sharing plates with my cousins during mealtimes the next day and us little cousins taking bath together at the bathroom outside the main house... Nostalgic...

I’d have to say that it was triggered by this photo...

//Some of us cousins from 20 years ago, can you believe that? xD

We’re missing a few cousins though this year... a few of them at their husband’s hometown and one is still in Australia... I miss them... How time flies.

More relative visits today...

Oh.... and for kids, Raya means Duit Raya a.k.a. angpau a.k.a. okane xDDD

And because the lyrics and melody are just beautiful, I'm sharing this with you too:
Healing, by Sami Yusuf (Thanks Fhad for sharing in fb)

A Picture A Week: Week 32

Running so behind with A Picture A Week (>.<) but I haven't been taking photos nowadays...
These are the two new pairs (right and left) that I bought recently... because my old pairs can't stand the long ward rounds and lots of walking.... poor feet were suffering... and I've decided to add some colours, instead of the same old black XP

Gift (2)

Went home over the weekends and saw a familiar package. So this was the package sent.... huh?
It's tied with purple ribbon. Inside was a smaller box, wrapped in familiar sparkly purple wrapper. The moment I saw that, I already knew who the sender was. Scrape that, the moment I saw where it's from, there's only one person I know from there.

Rachel Heow, yes I'm mentioning your name here; for your kindness, and for being the one to scrape off my perfume wishlist so fast, and for spoiling me to the max, thank you! ♥
And stop spoiling me already!

It's only a few more days till Eid... Ramadhan went by so fast (>.<)
To those who are celebrating Eid'ul Fitr, Eid Mubarak!

1999*4##111

I'm borrowing someone's secret special code of saying thank you~

To my family, batch-mates, my sister, Zeze, Alin, Farah, Nisa, thank you for the wish and cake ♥
To Rachie, who sent the text 7 hours earlier, thank you ♥
To Rhi, who made that beautiful rainbow for me, thank you ♥
To Chii, who tagged me in a post in fb, thank you ♥
To Ames, Sham, Aniera, Ai, Zhafri, Syafiq, Alia, Zahir & J, for the thoughtful texts, thank you ♥
To Ija, thank you for the cake ♥
To Ija, Chika, Rina, Ili, Anis, Anim, Diana & Lina, for taking all the troubles to come along and for the card, thank you ♥
To my cousin, who wished me through Mom's phone, thank you too ♥

To Zirah, for (way) early present, following my selfish request, thank you ♥
To Mom, for the lovely sparkly present (and the price got leaked out somehow), thank you ♥

I still have a parcel waiting for me at the post office home now... Once I figured out who the sender is (going home this weekend) I'll thank you properly too ♥

Oh, and to you who celebrated your birthday on August 30th, Happy 27th Birthday!

*stealing off what Rhi gave me*
umm... is that even considered as stealing anymore? o.O

Truthfully, turning 26, it doesn't make any difference xD

And now that my clinical exam is over, off to finish up the EBM case write up~ Next week will be a new posting, Orthopaedics!

p/s- The brat is coming home this Friday! ♥

N.E.W.S

Got a phone call from one of the close friends, to tell me a very good news indeed.
It's been a while since we talked to each other so it was a very pleasant surprise
And when I receive such a good news, I get extremely and exceptionally happy,
I couldn't stop smiling... even until now =D

Almost 2 weeks ago, I received similar news from an ex-housemate about one of our friends
It sounds like I'll have more visits to do next year
Also, I'm adding another date for wedding reception to go to next year~

So, to S.H & D.H, CONGRATULATIONS! ^_^

August 22, 2010

Today's schedule

Sahur - took nap - prayed - got ready
40 minutes drive - 4 hours class - less than half an hour discussion afterwards
Picked Ijajikins - dropped by house - set off

Got lost. Going round and unsure. Called for direction
2 hours *headdesk*

Finally found the place - browsed around
D=
Didn't find items wanted - saw nothing interesting

Decided to go home - discussed potential plan for next week - sent Ijajikins to KL Central
Got home - time to break fast - prayed
Watched a bit of TV - checked emails and updates - deciding goods to buy... tough decision, lots of rationalization
Chatted with Ames and J - sent text spam  to AiAi
Is typing practice questions - thinking of the loads of homework & readings

Time to sleep?
Not yet
It's already 22nd of August though...

Starting to feel sleepy.
It's 12.08 a.m. now

August 16, 2010

Question

What would you do when you feel like talking to someone and yet... that someone isn't there, or more accurately doens't exist?

August 13, 2010

Gift <ギフト>

Double meaning:
- It's one of the touching songs I found on 僕の見ている風景 Yup, my copy has arrived~ ^.^
- It's half an hour before the date changes and my sister's birthday. Unfortunately, this year, I haven't decided what to give to her yet, nor do I have anything at all in my hand as a present... not even birthday card >.<  How bad is that? I'm starting to wonder if I'm that busy?

Today, we decided to come home to catch the break fast with our family, especially since our parents are going back to KT tomorrow noon. It was a nice surprise to know that our younger brother who's studying in Johor is also around. So tomorrow morning, during sahur, everyone (except that brat who's still overseas ^^;) will be here too ♥
After 3 days of fasting, finally today while breaking fast only I feel like how fasting in the past was like. It was nostalgic.
Umm... we have to head out early, back to CyberJ though... for class at 8 a.m. =P

But in summary, I'm happy. By the week before Eid, our youngest brother will be home as well, so then the family is complete =)

A Picture A Week: Week 31 (Food Outlet Rec)

//This is some fish (Dory?) with white sauce and believe it or not, banana fritter and jam (pineapple, or apple, I can't remember) Weird combo? Yeah, tell me about it. BUT! It tasted really yum~! Everything fit perfectly, even the banana and jam. Seriously. I can't remember the name of the dish but... err... I guess you can read the menu and the description? =P

And so you'll ask where was this taken? Picture below will answer your question:

Location? Prangin Mall, Penang. I'm sorry that I don't know any other branch/outlet other than this one...
The other food was good but my recommendation still goes for this specific fish ^^

On the other note, I'm starting Paediatrics tomorrow~

Oh, and before I forgot, to all Muslim, Ramadhan Kareem~ May this blessed month brings a lot of goodness and rahmah. May it be a month for us to reflect and better ourselves, insyaAllah...

A Picture A Week: Week 29 & 30

// During Le Tour de Kedah 2 (Sunathon) @ the house where we gather before departing to Penang

// After Le Tour de Kedah 2- Dessert @ Bayou, Alamanda. Initially we wanted to order the chocolate lava cake but apparently the cake isn't there in the menu anymore but there's the mudcake (picture above)

On the other note, I read in fb that a friend is posted in Sarawak. All the best, there!

And on the different side of another note, I received an email saying that my copy of 僕の見ている風景 has been shipped today =D *waits patiently*

Coffee Challange

It started on Sunday. Somehow, coffee made me sick.
Tried again the next day, the same result. Sad time.

I had coffee challange today- just to test again.

Guess what? Coffee still makes me sick D=

This, I would never have expected, being a self-proclaimed coffee addict. Shall I turn to tea for a bit from now on? I guess so

p.s- I officially have no weekends this week =/
pp.s- Countdown: 7 more days till the release!
ppp.s- Emergency Medicine ♥

A Picture A Week: Week 28

I'm hungry. 'Nuff said

// Strawberry tart from Sun Moulin (in Isetan) KLCC. They have yummy pastries and delicious freshly baked breads. Definitely a recommended place. This place was introduced to me by a colleague

July 20, 2010

Test

Came Sunday, off to the ward to find a case for exam. It was a case that I've been looking for. Found interesting learning issues; researched, prepared.

Came Tuesday the exam day, right 2 hours before exam started, the case went home- discharged.

Doumbfounded? *shrugged* I came early to the ward today to clerk another case that I saw admitted yesterday before I went home, just in case. Completely a different case, with different diagnosis, plus end stage renal failure and lots of issues to be discussed, if I was prepared beforehand.

Disappointed? Frustrated? Not really. Maybe. I don't know.

But I refrained from buying coffee.

I bought onigiri with salmon filling, dango, sakuramochi and shrimp croquette though.

Schedule for tomorrow: leave home at 6.30 a.m.

July 17, 2010

Flow

You won't always have what you want.
Things don't always go the way you plan them to be.

These two things, they happen a lot this year. More so when I'm aware of it.
And there have been numerous times where I'm pushed into a corner because of it.

And breakdown. Or, almost *shrugs*

Go with the flow? I guess. Fullstop.

I'm sleepy. And tired.
And this post totally doesn't make sense. Apologies for the random rambles. Rant, more like it.

One last random note: I want to have a listen to 1992*4##111 and Dear Snow =/

July 15, 2010

:9

Some time ago while chatting in the shoutbox over in Arashi-Forum, I started using :9
Incidentally I notice that more and more people using it too
Today I've been told that :9 is addictive
I thought it was cute, the emoticon
Even cuter with the comment of how addictive it is xD

Yeah, try to figure out what :9 means =D

On a different note, 嵐's Everything live version from the 5x10 Anniversary concert tour is a total love~ I love that version ♥

This Saturday's Bon Odori in Shah Alam, I'm not sure if I'll be able to go, despite the fact that the sisters are going =( I'm hoping to meet AiAi though, no matter what.... Class in the morning, discussion in the afternoon and then I'm trying to see if I can catch my cousin before she flies back to Tasmania in the evening... With that kind of tight schedule... I wonder if I should just invite myself to where AiAi is staying xD
But I'll have to go to the ward on Sunday to find another case for the exam on Monday because I found out that one patient that I've prepared for is going home for home leave for a week =/ I haven't decided what time yet though...

Decision decision...
And it's Thursday already =/

A Picture A Week: Week 20-27 (Kuching! Trip Batch)

While I still have time, I think I'll proceed with this.
This batch's photos come from the shots taken while I was having a short break in Kuching, Sarawak with another 4 awesome girls.

Enjoy~

Aimee's Totoro
// Totoro~~~ Found this in Melaka, a present for someone =)

Santubong
// Santubong Resort, free stay on the first night, facing the mountain

Santubong Resort
// Santubong Resort, facing the sea

Kuching
// The scenery from outside of the Cats Museum. My err... failed attempt at capturing panoramic view with the clouds and blue sky >.<

360 at night
// From the 4th Floor of 360 Hotel, where we stayed for the rest of the trip

From pool side at 360
// Experimental shot of the moon

// 360 Hotel, 4th Floor, the pool side. I actually asked the twins to pose like that for almost a minute because the shutter speed was set slow. No flash was used.

// One of my favourite night shots. Slow shutter speed. I love the background. And of course the girls inside this ^^

And one extra picture, because I feel like it =P
From pool side at 360 at night

We also went to the Culture Village (where coming back from there, I had fever and stayed in bed for a few hours trying to get it down), the Cats Museum, Serikin and food (and cake) hunting. 4 days felt like too short for all of us. This trip was only a couple of days after I came back from Perhentian Island if that explained the fever =/

You can view the rest of the album here: Kuching! Trip

A Picture A Week: Week 12-19 (Batch Perhentian Island)

I stopped at Week 11 the last time. This week would be week 27. So I'll post the rest with the Kuching Trip batch. For now, please enjoy the thsi batch~

Perhentian-close up
//From on the boat after snorkeling

Perhentian 3
// From the beach, in the morning

Perhentian
//On the last day, after morning walk, I took the time to read my last Secret Santa present =D
On a hammock xD

From the hammock
//Scenery looking up from the hammock

// Up-close and you can see the flower~

Perhentian 2
//The is the scenery when I look left from where I was sitting/lying. Those are the taxi boat if your group is small enough for snorkeling around the island

//The jetty during the day where we experimented some photoshoots the night before

The family trip this time made me want to learn scuba diving. I realize that my family tends to choose island holiday rather than highland holiday. This time around however, two boys couldn't join; one was doing short semester and the other one was (and still is) in Egypt.

Love (F4)

Dearest J,

If you intended to make me cry watching that little vid you made (darn 5x10 as the background song!), you have succeeded. And I'll tell you, it won't just be me alone, wait till the other two watch it too.

Let's watch the next 10 years, and beyond, too <3

July 5, 2010

No Fun

Feeling feverish with runny nose and persistant coughing for 4 consecutive days (make it 5 now) is no fun.

July 4, 2010

Pre-continuation of A Picture A Week Project

I've been swamped with work since the semester starts. Now it's one more week left before the new posting. During the break roughly a month ago, I went to Perhentian and Kuching and have some pictures to share, especially now since I've been neglecting A Picture A Week Project. But before I do that, I'd like to share what my brother had taken while we were in Perhentian.

Being there made me want to take up scuba diving. Perhaps I'd keep that as one of the long term goal =)
Please enjoy the shots~
